Charlie-Lou was born with no eyes (Anopthalmia). She also has Global Development Delay and a chest deformity which has led to lung problems. She also has an undiagnosed stomach condition. Despite all this she is a happy little girl who just loves to play. Her garden was not accessible, with broken concrete and an uneven lawn, it really was unsafe for her so she was confined indoors. We managed to raise the funds necessary to completely transform the garden into a safe sensory space where after school she can play like any other child. A local pub The Cricketers Arms hosted a fundraising evening where bands and DJs played for free, raising over £700 towards her play equipment. Her Mum reports that Charlie-Lou just loves her new space and plays out in all weathers and refuses to come in.
