Ella is 21 months old and has recently been diagnosed with Rett Syndrome. This rare genetic disorder affects the development of Ella’s brain and has caused global development delay. Ella doesn’t yet sit up unsupported, crawl or walk. She has lost the ability to communicate verbally and most of her purposive hand movement skills. She has also developed a repetitive hand tapping movement and struggles with sleep.
In spite of all the difficulties, Ella is a happy little girl who loves music and Peppa Pig.

Ella needs more regular physiotherapy and speech and language therapy in order to progress and improve the standard of her life. She has recently started seeing a private physiotherapist and we hope that she can continue the therapy twice a week, at a cost £40 per session, over the course of one year. She will also require some equipment to continue the work at home.
