Adam is 11 and has Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) this is a severe degenerative muscle waisting disease which will unfortunately lead to paralyses and will significantly shorten his life. Adam however doesn’t see this as a barrier and his condition doesn’t prevent him from participating in activities that his able bodied peers are able to do.
We were able to contribute £1,500 towards a new specialist bed that has given him independence, safety, comfort and most importantly allow him the ability to change his position himself with just the touch of a button.
We were also able to contribute £1,500 towards Adam's new wheelchair.
