Fern is 8 and at 3 years old was diagnosed with Alexander Disease, a rare and cruel disease. She has now lost the ability to walk and swallow and her neck is in constant spasm, meaning she can no longer lift her head. Thanks to Ferns family and friends, Forum Jewellers who held a ‘Dine With Diamonds’ evening and the DCF we were able to raise the £4100,00 to purchase a Mollii Suit.This is an electrical stimulation suit which improves muscle tone and eases painful spasms. Since trialing this Fern has greater movement in her neck, is much more relaxed and is now sleeping through the night thus giving this beautiful little girl a better quality of life. Ferns Mollii suit has arrived and her mum said that she saw an improvement after just one session. Her muscles were more relaxed and she was generally more stable and balanced. We are so pleased to hear this. Your donations really do change lives.
