Jakob
Funded: SDR Operation
Raised: £65,000
Jakob has severe Cerebral Palsy and was unable to walk. He could do very little for himself and had to
rely on his parents to move him. Jakob needed a life changing SDR Operation. This is a surgical
procedure performed on the lower spinal cord. The nerves that lead to too much muscle tone and spasticity are then cut.
Unfortunately, this operation and on-going post-op Physiotherapy wasn't funded by the NHS, so
SDR was carried out in America costing a huge £65,000.
This was raised by the fantastic fundraising of his family, the local community and The DCF.
Jakob is progressing really well and attends main stream school with his twin Elliot.
