Leon aged 14 has a Prosthetic leg. He is a talented sportsman and has recently received his grading to compete as a rower in the Paralympics. To compete at this high level Leon needed a specially designed waterproof prosthetic leg costing £9,000. Bournemouth Collegiate School is one of our charity partners and held a fundraising event called One Foot Forward. The whole school participated in a pirate themed walk from Sandbanks to Southbourne. Almost 600 students and staff took part. Over £11,000 was raised and Leon now has his new leg and is training hard. Leon’s Mum Katell said: ‘in a world where you hear bad things and misery all the time this is such a heart warming event from all the school community”.
