Family fun dayMay 22, 2018 Everyone had a great time in the beautiful grounds of Collegiate School (BCS) at our Family Fun Day. We are so fortunate to have BCS as one of our Charity Partners who supplied the food and just did so much to ensure that the day was a huge success and just what we wanted, a good day out for our families and supporters. We had fantastic entertainment from: The Funky Little Choir, First Position School of Dance, Party Time for Kids and The Avonbourne Gymnastic Club. We had lovely food and drink and our beautiful princess Samantha Shapley delighted all the children. To top it off The DCF were presented with a cheque for £9,490.00 from Hays Travel and we were blown away by their generosity. There is so much we can do with these funds and make a difference to the lives of local sick and disabled children, every penny will go to them. • Paddy's Purpose on the BBC
    June 6, 2018
Paddy’s Purpose on the BBCJune 6, 2018 The BBC came to film pupils at St James School, Pokesdown participating in Paddy’s Purpose. This is a fantastic interactive workshop designed by Gemma Cardona to change the way the world sees differently abled people like her son Paddy, who has Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy and is non verbal. The film captured Gemma & Paddy breaking down barriers by explaining that Paddy likes to do everything they do but in a different way. It was wonderful to see how the children went from being almost fearful of Paddy to queuing up to push him round the playground, some of the younger children even cried when he left. Thanks to St James School, The BBC and of course to Gemma & Paddy. Learn more about Paddy's Purpose Subscribe to our newsletterKeep up to date with all of the work we are doing.SIGN UP
  • Our year with AFCB
    July 19, 2018
Our year with AFCBJuly 19, 2018 The partnership between AFC Bournemouth and The Dorset Children’s Foundation has been a delight and has really helped to raise The Dorset Children’s Foundation’s profile within the local community. The highlight was when our children were selected to be flag bearers at the Everton match. Our parents never thought that their children would ever have the opportunity to be on pitch with a Premier League club. This was where dreams were fulfilled and memories made. Our signed AFC Bournemouth shirt was stolen from our charity shop so we were astonished and delighted when a replacement was brought in to our Boscombe shop by Steve Cook and Steve Fletcher. We were given the opportunity to have our mascot Dorsey Bear at all the home games which allowed us to not only bond with fans but to generate awareness about our charity. We would like to thank all at AFC Bournemouth who supported us this year and wish the future charity partners the best of luck’.
