COVID-19 recovery plan for disabled children

March 25, 2021

Yesterday, during a break from hospital, Father of Eliza Dan McEvoy and our Trustee spoke to in a meeting between the Disabled Children’s Partnership and the Cabinet Office Disability Unit for Covid response. Specifically why the education catch up has neglected the importance of the health section of EHCP’s and how inaction now will permanently damage the health of disabled children.

Can you help us push for a COVID-19 recovery plan for disabled children and their families?

70% of therapies for disabled children have been delayed. For example, children with cerebral palsy are missing out on physiotherapy to prevent muscle degeneration. In fact, over half of parents say their disabled child’s condition has worsened because of the pandemic. This is urgent. We need political support for a #COVID19 recovery plan for disabled children and their families.

Email your MP to demand an ambitious COVID-19 recovery plan for disabled children and their families, covering catch-up for vital therapies, additional respite for parent carers, and other vital measures. We need as much political support as we can get. Can you take a stand with us? Bit.ly/MPrecoveryplan #LeftInLockdown
