Greendale Construction raises £2055 towards specialist equipment for William

February 13, 2019

Dorset Chartered Builders, Greendale Construction Limited, has raised £2055 for the Dorset Children’s Foundation, with the money going specifically towards sensory equipment for 7 year old William May.

William was born with the main arteries of his heart the wrong way around which affected all of his organs, and sadly, caused him to suffer brain damage, leaving him with a diagnosis of Global
Developmental Delay; a condition which impacts all areas of his development.

In addition, William, who attends The Victoria School in Poole, suffers from epilepsy, with every seizure posing a risk of further brain damage, as well as the loss of many of the skills he has worked so hard to master.

Maria Seabright, finance and HR director at Greendale, explained: “We are so proud of everyone who helped us raise this money for William through the Greendale charity raffle and auction. Meeting the amazing William and his dedicated parents has been an honour, and we are so glad that the money raised will help provide essential sensory equipment for William, which will not only be great fun for him, but also help his development.”

Patsy Hallmey, co-founder of The Dorset Children’s Foundation, commented: “Everyone at The
Dorset Children’s Foundation are thrilled that Greendale Construction staged such a wonderful
fundraiser for William. It’s local companies like Greendale that make all the difference to us as a charity. Every penny raised will go to support William.”

Tania and Pete May, William’s parents, said: “What an amazing surprise! We are so grateful to
everyone at Greendale Construction for their fundraising and kindness. The equipment will make such a difference to William’s enjoyment and development. His smiles will show you the thank-you’s he cannot say.”
