Paddy’s Purpose on the BBC

June 6, 2018

The BBC came to film pupils at St James School, Pokesdown participating in Paddy’s Purpose.

This is a fantastic interactive workshop designed by Gemma Cardona to change the way the world sees differently abled people like her son Paddy, who has Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy and is non verbal.

The film captured Gemma & Paddy breaking down barriers by explaining that Paddy likes to do everything they do but in a different way. It was wonderful to see how the children went from being almost fearful of Paddy to queuing up to push him round the playground, some of the younger children even cried when he left.
Thanks to St James School, The BBC and of course to Gemma & Paddy.
