What we’ve been up to: August 2022

August 1, 2022

We had an incredible august with our accessible for all programme. We started the month by having both Wet Wheels Hamble and Wet Wheels Jersey for 3 days of pirate themed fun trips from Poole Quay. Everyone got dressed up, got drenched but had the best time ever.

Our stay and play groups put on two sessions of activities per week for our younger children.

We held fully adapted cycling sessions in the New Forest, got out of the heat at Prevail skate park, went pond dipping, had picnics, soft play, sensory dance sessions and had a brilliant afternoon playing with trains with Train Master.

Our Saturday club has grown from strength to strength and put on lots of fabulous activities including wheelchair rounders using the recently purchased power packs.

We had our fundraising event of the year The Dorset Plane Pull and were supported by 3 teams of pullers this year who raised a massive £9,776 which will be used to put on even more accessible for all activities over the year.

Our Ambassadors had an eventful month with Geva Mentor CBE selected to read out the oath on behalf of The Commonwealth athletes at the games in Birmingham. Boxer Chris Billam- Smith won against a home crowd & donated the sales of all pre fight merchandise to us.

The last of our 10 we go push chairs were delivered to a very happy family .
The beach wheelchair was loaned out to The Marsham Court and 2 delichon delta off road wheelchairs were given to Charlie and Ollie so they could both enjoy the great outdoors
